“Being a Grand Challenge Scholar encouraged me to combine multiple areas of study that were of interest to me, Physics and Computer Science, in order to tackle a bigger problem. Using coding as a tool to solve a physics problem was great practice for seeing how it can be used across a variety of different industries to solve problems and meet needs. The inter-disciplinary aspect of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program was vital in giving me the experience to apply my coding skills to be an effective problem solver in other fields.”
