The Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) at Colorado School of Mines offers opportunities to tackle big problems with even bigger impact. Sponsored by the National Academy of Engineering, the GCSP includes unique experiences unified by challenges faced by our world today- supplying clean drinking water, reverse engineering the brain, and making solar energy economical, to name a few. As a Scholar, students have the chance to combine coursework, extracurricular activities, and internship and volunteer experiences to prepare them to address the Engineering Grand Challenges. They gain skills in interdisciplinary projects, working across diverse cultures, applying their engineering prowess in the service of others, entrepreneurship, and critically-assessing problem definitions and solutions.
